A portable sudoku book specializing in variants and contains no classic sudokus.Sudoku in Space offer 10 variants that are spread across over 180 puzzles.
Examples of the variants are:
Stellar: Cells of a particular colour must contain the specific number for that colour
Dwarf and Supergiant: High and low numbers are given as yellow and red cells. You have to decide what the ranges for high and low are.
Lunar: This is basically arrow sudoku but cells that the traditional arrow runs through may not be adjacent.
Blackhole: This is Star Sudoku given a new name.
Warp: This is an irregular sudoku with non-adjacent regions.
The logic and aesthetics are definitely there. The entire book is printed in colour and makes solving more convenient. The book doesn't say so, but I think the puzzles are roughly arranged from easy to hard. Sudoku variants tend to involve heavy logical steps, so this book may not be interesting to those who only grasp the basic sudoku steps and do not wish for any more. It will appeal to those who are more serious about solving puzzles in general.

If you like exotic sudoku variants, you'll love Sudoku in Space. I'm considering buying a second copy just so I can solve some of the colorful puzzles again. Francis Heaney's imaginative puzzles include "Parallel Universe Sudoku," which feature two paths of identical sequences meandering through the puzzle, and "Asteroid Sudoku," which are wickedly challenging. Perhaps my favorite variation in this volume is "Dwarf and Supergiant Sudoku." Most of these puzzles require different colors (for example, the various "Exploration" sudokus) for solving, but the solver needs only an ordinary pencil. Don't miss this fantastic book of puzzles!
Fun book of puzzles of sudoku variations. A bonus for me is the paper is exceptionally easy to erase my pencil notations.
