It's an exempt from a larger work. Only 19 page long. "The Life Of" implies a much longer work, especially in light of the subject.
Short enough to get initial interest from the reader, not an in depth analysis of PythAgorean teachings, I would recommend to the beginner.

If you are interested in the teachings of Pythagoras, this is a great source of information. A must read for students of the Craft.
The book gather together much esoteric history attributed to Pythagoras, but it is quite shrifty on sources and contextual sources. For esoteric entertainment, it is readable; for academic reference, it's unserviceable.
