What first struck me was the smoothness of the reading thanks to an amazing choice of words. The complexity of the characters is expressed in a way that is easy to read, which is something I have rarely seen in other books.

You really get attached to the characters, their feelings and their stories. That, mixed with a historical background to spice up the plot made the entire book a really enjoyable experience.

I just finished it and I'm already reading it again!
I've read several of Kyra Gregory's novels and this one is at the top of the list for me. It was an interesting storyline and the characters really drive this story. I fell in love with them, but I also went through a rollercoaster of emotions with all of them. They really touched my heart and I felt so strongly for each of them and their situations. Even the minor characters pull at your heartstrings. Also the story has the political aspects and personal lives of the characters weaved perfectly with one another. It's an excellent historical fiction novel that I can personally visualize in my head as a TV show. Truly wonderful~
This is a very fascinating and provocative book that contains romance, intrigue, suspense and some very erotic love scenes. Ms. Gregory has done an excellent job of tying up all loose ends in a very intricate story line and still manage to deliver fascinating and highly defined characters that draw you into the story and keep you captivated until the very end. "Grieving Liberty" definitely earned every star that I gave it and has made me want to search out more from Kyra Gregory.
